Max Gradel returns to former club Leicester City on Sunday for the first time since being shown the door at the Walkers Stadium.

Former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson told Gradel that he didn`t feel he was good enough for Championship football and was allowed to initially join Leeds on loan.

After enjoying a three-month loan spell at Elland Road, Gradel made the move permanent in January when he signed a two and a half year deal.

Gradel doesn`t feel he`s got a point to prove to Leicester and is going to treat is as any other game.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Gradel said, ‘I’m just going to take it as a normal game. I’m not even worried about any revenge or anything like that.
‘I’m just worried about my team at the moment I’m playing for. I just intend to keep my head and keep playing.
‘It’s (Leicester) a great club and I had a great time. It didn’t work out with the (former) manager and some people, but that’s nothing to do with the club and the fans. I’ve no problem with them.
‘They are a very good side. I wish them the best, but I’m just focusing on my team. As a footballer, you want to be involved in games like this.’

Gradel is enjoying a purple patch in front of goal for Leeds at the moment and as scored six goals in their last nine games including both goals in Saturday`s 2-0 win over league leaders Queens Park Rangers.

His form also earned him his first call up to the Ivory Coast national squad for their friendly in Poland last month, although he played no part in the game.

Long may his form continue as he hopes to help Leeds continue their good recent run of form.
