Vital Doncaster Rovers contributor 1879Rovers (Lee Brown) has been kind enough to mark the Leeds players on their performance in the game on Friday night.

What couldn`t have been easy viewing for Lee; here he goes with his views on the Leeds performance in the 3-0 win for Leeds.

Lonergan 5
We gave him nothing to do all evening. I actually cannot remember him having to make a save. The one time we put him under any pressure he dropped the ball and was lucky to get away with it. He got injured in the process and was replaced.

Connolly 6
I cannot actually remember him doing anything of note during the game.

Lees 7
I was really impressed with your two central defenders who didn`t give Sharp and Parkin a sniff all evening.

O`Dea 7
I thought he was slightly the better of the two central defenders. He marshalled your defence all night and won the battle against Jon Parkin.

White 8 Man of the match
I thought he was excellent on your left. Never gave Coppinger a chance all evening and with his pace looked dangerous on the break.

Snodgrass 6
I thought Ilunga kept him fairly quiet. Very theatrical, throwing himself to ground all the time.

Howson 7
Your two central midfielders won the battle in the middle of the park.

Clayton 7
As with Howson, he won the battle in the middle of the pitch. Howson and Clayton worked well together.

Pugh 6
He scored but I cannot remember him doing much else. White was the danger on the left.

Keogh 8
He has been linked with Rovers for around a year. How I wish we had signed him. He ran the Leeds defence ragged by pulling into space all the time.

McCormack 7
He scored a good goal and he looks like a player full of confidence. He linked up well with Keogh.

Substitutes

Rachubka, Becchio and Vayrynen 5

I cannot actually remember any of them doing anything as the game was well and truly over by the time they came on.

Summary
As well as Leeds played, it was a very bad night at the office for Rovers. We just never got going and the long ball tactics will do us no favours. I am very worried about losing players like Stock, Coppinger and Sharp, who just do not suit the long ball game. Sharp showed at Sheffield United that he needs the ball to feet and tucked in around the corners, not coming down from a great height. It is the same with Stock and Coppinger. What is the point of having ball players in midfield if they are getting a stiff neck watching the ball go above their heads?
I thought Leeds looked a very tight unit from back to front. If you have finally sorted out your leaky defence then there is no reason why you should not be challenging for promotion.
As for Rovers, after a little bit of optimism, I am suddenly very worried again.

Thanks for your views Lee; it couldn`t have been easy to do.
