Leeds United look set to have the accounts unfrozen after paying the money they owed to Sports Capital.

Owner Massimo Cellino lost a winding up order served against the club by Sports Capital last week and Cellino was given until Monday June 23rd to pay the £950,000 owed to Sports Capital, plus interest.

Leeds have had their accounts frozen for the last month and they were once again unable to pay the players at the end of last month. The club also stopped taking card transactions for season tickets as the merchant service provider was keeping the money.

The club will now return to court on Monday where they hope that the payment of the debt to Sports Capital will unfreeze their bank account and bring an end to the winding up petition.
