LUFC Leeds fans view v Reading

I made the trip to Reading on Friday and give you my fans view of the player`s performance.

Lonergan 6

Despite being down to ten men for such a long period, he had little to do. He was caught in no man`s land for the first goal.

Lees 6
Another one who will have been disappointed with his part in the first goal. Stood off Robson-Kanu for the cross and never got close to him, allowing him to head back across goal unchallenged.

Bruce 6
He was caught ball watching for the first goal, allowing Le Fondre an easy finish. Up to that point, I thought he had done well.

Bromby 7
A good solid performance in the centre of defence. I can see him becoming a big part of Warnock`s plans next season.

Robinson 6
I thought he would struggle with the pace of Kebe but had a relatively easy time. For a big lad I was disappointed how easy he went down for the second goal.

Snodgrass 4
For me, he has been the biggest disappointment since Neil Warnock arrived. Did very little to effect the game and he should have buried his chance in the second half.

Thompson 0
A silly challenge that was unnecessary but I honestly do not think he would have been sent off had it not been for the Reading player`s reaction. Another player now suspended.

Brown 8 Star Man
The engine in the Leeds midfield. Crunching tackles all afternoon and I was fearing he could also see red if he had slightly miss-timed one of them.

Pugh 7
He could have quite easily have seen red for his tackle on Karacan. His tackle was more a red card than the one shown to Thompson. I thought he worked hard all afternoon to stop Reading playing.

Becchio 6
He was feeding off scraps with Leeds down to ten men for most of the game. He worked hard and defended from the front.

McCormack 7
He came very close to giving Leeds the lead with a long-range effort that clipped the post. He then set up Snodgrass for what should have been a goal. He is the one player in the team at the moment that looks like creating something when he has the ball.

Substitutes
Webber, Forssell and Rogers all came on for the final few minutes and had little impact on the game.

Summary
The game was spoilt in the opening fifteen minutes by the sending off. I thought it was a little harsh and was it a case of the Reading players getting Thompson sent off and the chance for a little known referee to make the headlines in a live TV game.

After promising many changes and giving the kids a chance, Warnock was predictable in his team changes.

I really hope now against Derby on Monday he does give a few different players a run out. Paynter, Rogers, Webber and Charlie Taylor should all be given a chance from the off.

Once again, the fans were brilliant. Well over 3,000 made the trip for a live TV game on a Bank Holiday.

I hope that we will get what we deserve next season.
