Leeds United boss Simon Grayson is looking forward to the FA Cup replay with Arsenal and wants these sort of fixtures to be a regular occurrence at Elland Road against the Premiership top clubs.
Leeds held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates last weekend after being denied a win in the final minute of normal time to a Cesc Fabregas penalty.
Grayson is once again looking forward to the game at a packed out Elland Road.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, “It`s a great opportunity for us, we earned the rights at the Emirates last week when we got a result and bring them back to a full house. It`s going to be a fantastic atmosphere and we`ll be the underdogs, but we will go out and enjoy it again.”
Grayson saw his side beat Scunthorpe United 4-0 on Saturday, a result that sees them remain in fifth place in the Championship and eyeing a place back amongst the elite of English football for the first time since 2004.
Leeds fans were accustomed to the big games in English football for many years and Grayson is hoping this will be a taste of things to come in the near future, “It`s what we strive for at this club, to be playing the Arsenal`s and other top teams on a regular basis,” he continued.
Leeds have played Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the last eighteen months in cup competitions, beating Man Utd away, holding Tottenham and Arsenal to draws away from home and narrowly losing to Liverpool at Elland Road in the Carling Cup.
Elland Road will be rocking on Wednesday night with only a handful of tickets remaining for the game.
