It was revealed last night that the Championship intends to return on the weekend of June 20, with clubs preparing for that day.
For Leeds United, this will be welcome news. The league leaders have made it clear that they want to finish the campaign on the pitch and Marcelo Bielsa’s men are on course to win promotion back to the Premier League, as they hold a seven point advantage over third-placed Fulham with just nine games to play.
Will Leeds United be playing in the Premier League next season?
Yes
No
Whilst the return date is ‘subject to the strict proviso that all safety requirements and Government guidance‘ are met, it gives the players and management something to work towards after they had returned to training in the last week.
Breaking – the EFL has set the weekend of June 20 as the provisional restart date for the 2019-20 Championship season. All matches behind closed doors. #lufc

As you would expect, this update went down well with Whites fans, although there are some who are nervous about entering the final part of the campaign – particularly after what happened last season. On the whole though, there is an excitement about this news and here we look at some of the comments…
