Leeds Sit One Point Off Ending 16 Years Of Hurt – Bielsa Is A Genius – Match Stats

|

Leeds United had another opportunity to open up a significant gap on West Bromwich Albion in our chase to lift the Championship title as we welcomed Barnsley to Elland Road for this evening’s clash.

It was a slow and more edgy start to the game, with the visitors having the better chances in the opening half, but a Sollbauer own goal in the 28th minute gave us the advantage and it was simply a case of holding on.

We livened up a little bit more in the second period, and although Barnsley really had the better of the game in terms of chances, we did what we needed to keep the clean sheet and take all three points from the tie.

One point required to guarantee promotion to the Premier League and a five point gap on the chasing pack. Promotion could be secured on Friday if West Brom fail to beat Huddersfield.

Job almost done – onto the next one.
