Leeds must complete this summer business to make or break season – opinion

|

Tying Marcelo Bielsa down to a new deal would be by far the best bit of business Leeds could do this summer, but Radrizanni told talkSPORT that it isn’t clear if an agreement is in place.

The good news is there is an option to extend the Argentine’s deal, but that runs out at the end of the month.

One thing is clear, Radrizanni must do everything in his power to keep Bielsa at the club, or he can wave goodbye to his ambitions of taking us to the Premier League anytime soon.

Bielsa is a magnet for possible players, current players, and fans. He has united the club and allowed us to dream again. If he were to go, the soul would fall out of the club, and all the good sentiment that has built in the last year would evaporate.

To make things worse, Radrizanni made the admission that it could be a difficult summer ahead in regard to transfers. Perhaps this has given Bielsa reason for concern, perhaps he will leave because he is unable to bring in the players he wants.

Kalvin Phillips and Pontus Jansson are at the centre of speculation regarding their futures at the club. If Radrizanni is serious about his promotion ambitions, then he can’t afford to let any of our best players, or Bielsa, go.
