Spurs Reportedly Open The Bidding On Prodigious Young Leeds Talent

|

Speculation about the potential future of Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke has been rife this season already, and the expected reports of a summer departure are back with us with Tottenham Hotspur the latest to be linked.

The 18-year-old has largely had a good breakthrough year in the Championship campaign of 2018/19 as we narrowly missed out on promotion via the Play-Off route, and his career tally now reads five starts, 20 substitute showings and a return of two goals and two assists. Having been taken ill and ended the campaign in a slower fashion than we were becoming accustomed to, he should still see it as a success.

The Daily Mail have claimed this week that Spurs have now opened the bidding with an offer of £10million but even if there’s a truth to that, there’s no way we’re accepting just £10million for me. The lad has a clear future and we can offer him far more regular first team action as long as he is deserving of it, so again, having already rejected interest from Manchester City, especially at that fee, would he depart to sit on a bench or only ever appear for an Under 23 side now?

I doubt it.

I don’t doubt this’ll be one of the links of the summer though that only goes away for a period when the window shuts.
