According to Ekrem Konur via Twitter, Leeds United are monitoring French forward Martin Terrier.

The 25 year old is wanted by a host of clubs and rumours are circulating that Leeds and West Ham are keeping tabs on the Rennes forward.  He has scored 30 goals in 71 appearances for the Ligue 1 club, making him a target for clubs around Europe. The former Lille and Lyon forward looks like the perfect player for a Jesse Marsch system, as he can play across the front three. His preferred position is as a second striker, this would compliment Patrick Bamford or Joe Gelhardt and give Leeds some good options up top.

Terrier signed for Rennes in July 2020 for a fee of around €12 million, and made his debut on 22 August, playing the full 90 minutes of the season opener away to his former club Lille.  He opened his account on 16 October in a 1–1 draw at Dijon, finishing the season with nine goals, including two at home to the same opponents in a 5–1 win. In December he scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over Saint-Etienne. The 2021/22 season was the most prolific of his career with 21 goals, joint third in the league earning him player of the month for March and a spot in the team of the season.

He is, as yet, uncapped for the senior French team but has played at both U20 and U21 levels, scoring on 8 occasions from a combined 17 appearances. In September 2017 he made his U21’s debut in a 4-1 win over Kazakhstan, coming on in the 57th minute and scoring a hat-trick.  Scoring all seven of his U21’s goals in his first four games.

He would be a great addition to Jesse Marsch’s Leeds, he is someone who can stick the ball in the net, and given the amount of chances they create, he could be the 20 goal a season striker Leeds have been crying out for.  It remains to be seen if Leeds can tempt Terrier to the Elland Road and the Premier League, so watch this space.
