After a fan asked about the potential defensive arrivals at the club this summer, it looks as though Phil Hay has suggested we’re in for a long ride with Kyle Bartley.
We’ve been wanting the player to sign since the end of 2016/17, of course, and after it became clear there was interest again this summer, the excitement began to grow.
Things have gone quiet of late, though, and it looks as though we’ll have to be patient with this one with it potentially going to drag late into the summer as the deadline gets ever nearer:
Pretty sure Pochettino would let him come. Bartley deal seems to have gone cold for now. Someone said to me a few weeks back that it might take until later in the summer to get that one right in terms of valuation etc. Honestly don’t know if Bielsa wants him though.

Concerning, but not urgent yet given how much time we still have.
The Verdict
I still want Bartley to come in but it looks as though it’ll be a while before we realise whether we’re actually going to get him.
Certainly, though, I think it’d be worth the wait given what he provides us.
