Leeds United coach Jessie Marsch has taken a lot of positives from the second pre season friendly win against Blackpool. Speaking to Leeds Official via Twitter, He said “When you look at the performance, you can say it was pretty close to complete”

Leeds made light work of the game against the Championship side, running out 4-0 winners with Robin Koch, Junior Firpo, Rodrigo and youngster Mateo Joseph on the scoresheet.

Marsch was full of praise for his players and the way they handled the game.  In the first half it was like a training session, and after a host of substitutes just after half time they put the game to bed when Joseph made it 4 with a deflected shot from the edge of the area.  Leeds looked in total control of the game and Marc Roca stood out in the midfield, calm and composed in possession and was able to ping the ball around at will.  The defence looked assured with Koch and Struijk marshalling the backline and Gelhardt and Rodrigo looked dangerous up top together, linking up well on many occasions.

Marsch said “I thought overall, our fitness levels are pretty good right now, our concentration levels and our understanding of the way we want to play were pretty good”

When asked if he was happy with the new additions he added “yeah, really happy, I think what we said was, in the first line of recruitment, we wanted to make sure we brought in the right people, people that can fit into our mentality that understand what being all in is, that understand togetherness, and team spirit, and I think we’ve done a really good job of that, and then yeah, they’re all talented players, some of them I’ve worked with in the past, some of them we’ve been careful to scout, to fit exactly the way we want to play, and I think that we are adding really good pieces that we believe can help us get stronger and stronger”

They came through the game with no injury concerns and now it’s Australia next for The Whites. They will be hoping to carry on where they left off against Blackpool with 3 games down under including matches against Premier League sides Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
