Leeds News

This is the Leeds United we want to see.

To many Leeds fans, transfer windows are just another day, whether it be a Tuesday, a 42nd birthday, it’s just another day.  Nothing to get excited about, nothing special….right?

Normally we are all taking to social media to add disgruntlement to the masses, wondering why another player has left for peanuts without a replacement. Hoping for another useless owner to politely do one!

Well this transfer window has been like one of those famous beer advertisements, if they did transfer windows.  We are only just into July and it already feels like one of those Christmas mornings from your childhood, the ones in which all the circles, marked in crayon in the toy catalogue are wrapped under the tree.  Every few days we have been treated to a new signing, a new star to adorn our kids replica kits, a new feeling around Elland Road.

The hierarchy at Leeds have placed many eggs in a basket, rather than the usual one, if we were lucky.  So, what has happened this time around?  Andrea Radrizzani apologised for such poor activity in the January window, and is showing how determined he is to not let that situation arise again.  He has certainly put his money where his mouth is so far.  With over fifty days left in the window, The Whites have brought in six, yes you heard it right, six players already.

Luis Sinisterra became Leeds sixth summer signing so far.

Brendan Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra have all put pen to paper, and it looks like we aren’t done yet.  With rumours of a new left back, a striker and even a goalkeeper doing the rounds, Leeds fans are definitely raising eyebrows when opening Twitter and the like, rather than raising a tissue to our eyes like last transfer windows.

Don’t get me wrong, we have done good business in the past, not very often but we have from time to time. This window has been absolutely superb so far though, with promise it could get even better.  Having gone from not signing a midfielder for nine transfer windows to kitting out our squad and filling in most of the holes in one window is something out of the ordinary.

The excitement amongst fans is heating up, knowing Jesse Marsch will have a squad he can call on, rather than square pegs in round holes, and babes on the bench. Let’s hope it continues and we go into the season with a fully fit, fully prepared squad, and show this Premier League what we have all been missing. This is more like it Leeds, this is the Leeds United we want to see.

Up Next: Sinisterra signs!
