According to LeedsLive, Jesse Marsch has been waxing lyrical about his compatriot, and Leeds Midfielder Tyler Adams.

Adams, away on World Cup duty with the USA in Qatar has been in top form in the past two weeks. Fantastic displays against Wales and then against England, followed by the 1-0 win over Iran have seen the Americans advance to the knockout stages as runners-up in Group B. They remain unbeaten in the tournament and they will now face off against The Netherlands for a place in the next round. His coach at Elland Road has been singing his praises and he said, “Tyler, for me, when he can play with confidence and intensity and display his athleticism and his intelligence combined, he can be elite.”

“And I knew that before he came to Leeds. And the key for me was just having these kinds of conversations to unearth it more and get him on track and then allow him to be himself. So I don’t want to take any credit for Tyler. I think he deserves all the credit, but the fit here at Leeds has been really good for him and for us, so I think it’s just got him into a place where he’s playing with more confidence and belief in himself than he ever has.”

Of course, Marsch knows all about Adams, and signing the midfielder from RB Leipzig was an easy decision to make. The two had worked together before and the American has all the attributes to make himself a real hero in Leeds. He has already become a fan favourite, playing all but one of the White’s 14  Premier League fixtures this season. The tough-tackling midfielder is just the type of player the fans love in West Yorkshire. Unfortunately, he will be missing when Leeds return to action against Manchester City as he will be suspended for his frustrating lash out in the loss at Tottenham Hotspur, which he received a second yellow late on in the match. Marsch will be hoping he will be available for the trip to Newcastle a few days later.
