According to Conor McGilligan of the One Leeds Fan Channel on Youtube, Leeds United have been linked with Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus is currently at the World Cup with Ghana and has impressed in their first two games at the tournament. The 22-year-old scored a brace against Korea Republic as they gained their first points in Qatar with a 3-2 win. Ghana are looking to make it to the knockout stages today when they face Uruguay and the highly-rated midfielder, currently playing his football at Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie will be the focus of the attention once again. It is believed numerous clubs are watching Kudus and may be looking to tempt the midfielder, who can also play as a winger into a switch in the January transfer window. Kudus signed for Ajax for a fee of €9 million in 2020 and made his official debut for the club in a league match against RKC Waalwijk. Former coach Erik ten Hag called Kudus a player with “incredible potential”.

Mcgilligan said, “A few rumours on the mill as well when it comes to Kudus, the Ghanaian midfielder that Leeds have been linked with him, he’s an Ajax midfielder that apparently Leeds have been looking at this guy for a while and apparently there are other clubs now interested in his services.”

Mohammed Kudus in action at the World Cup

Mohammed Kudus has good experience playing in the Dutch top flight and the Champions League, he has played 47 times for Ajax scoring 10 goals as well as over 20 appearances for Ghana scoring on 7 occasions.

Leeds are looking to add to their squad in the upcoming window with a left-back and a striker as the top priorities, but could also look to add to other areas, with the defence and midfield possibly benefitting from some new blood. They are currently short on creativity in midfield and Kudus could be just the player to remedy the gaps. Jesse Marsch will be hoping to get all of his targets into the club at the earliest opportunity, to get them used to his system and hopefully start to climb the Premier League table.
