Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media to a rumoured bid from Southampton for Jack Clarke.
Football Insider had published a report on Monday stating that the Saints had offered the Whites £5million to take Clarke away from Elland Road in the January window.
Southampton were the second Premier League side to officially make an offer for Clarke’s services after Crystal Palace’s £3million offer was rejected earlier in the month.
Clarke has quickly become one of Marcelo Bielsa’s top young players this season, with the 18-year-old recording 13 appearances in the Championship.
The forward has also scored twice and assisted a further two goals during his outings for the Elland Road side, including a strike at Villa Park in December that kick-started a comeback to win from 2-0 down.
Given his impressive emergence from the U18s this season, fans are reluctant to see Clarke leave, let alone for just £5million…
