“I Bet They Asked For His Autograph” – These Leeds Fans React To FA Meeting As Slapped Wrist Outcome Nears

|

Any football fan has to have been living under a rock in recent weeks to have not heard about ‘Spygate’ and Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa’s impressive and unexpected tactical press conference with the media.

With bogus claim and counterclaim regurgitated by a media who forgot ethics and accuracy, bolstered by pundits wanting their 30 seconds of faux outrage and anger to make themselves seem relevant, if it wasn’t for the fact that Bielsa hadn’t broke a law or even in reality an EFL or Football Association regulation by sending scouts to see if there was a natural line of sight into opposition training grounds, it would be quite worrying.

Worrying irrespective of the moral question and worrying irrespective of all those who have come out admitting this has gone on since scouts in the game were invented.

On Monday, Bielsa met with FA officials and whilst no details have been leaked (yet) about what was said, what Bielsa could add given everything he’s already said is open to debate.

The authorities have to be seen to be acting though, so as they do that and try and quieten some of the bleating from the eleven clubs who have complained like children, the punishment will leave a mark but it’ll be nothing more than a slap.

These Leeds fans, at least, saw the humour in the meeting.
