“He’s been out for months”, “So lucky” – These Leeds fans react to club post

A few Leeds United fans have been reacting online after the club shared a clip of Adam Forshaw discussing what it is like to play under Marcelo Bielsa.

Forshaw was speaking on what life under the boss is like for players while appearing on Saturday night’s EFL on Quest, and insisted that the Argentine had transformed the club after a bottom-half finish the season before.

Liverpool-born Forshaw had joined us the January before Bielsa arrived in West Yorkshire as the successor to Paul Heckingbottom in 2018, and feels the former Argentine and Chile boss quickly turned us into genuine promotion challengers that fought at the top of the Championship table throughout his maiden term in charge.

We are again eying promotion into the Premier League this season having fallen short in the Play-Off Semi-Finals in May, and currently sit two points behind league-leaders West Bromwich Albion after 17 games.

Saturday’s 2-1 win at Luton Town also moved us above Preston North End into the automatic places after the Deepdale natives were beaten away to Derby County, while we stretched our unbeaten run to six games.

And Forshaw, currently sidelined with a hip injury, has said: “It is brilliant [playing under Bielsa]. What he has done is transform the club.

Where will we end the season?

“We finished 13th the year before and he is a revelation. He is professional, the team spirit is up there now and we are expected to be up there at the end of the season.

“It is a cliché, but [his mantra] it’s just [focus on] the next game. We will work on the shape for the next team and who we come up against. You don’t want to look too far ahead, so we are taking it game by game.”
