Leeds United have reached the promised land.
Huddersfield Town’s 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Friday ended a 16-year wait for the Whites as they were promoted to the Premier League for the first time in nearly two decades.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side managed to do it by winning 26 games out of 44, drawing nine and losing nine, as well as conceding just 34 goals all season, as per BBC Sport.
Posting on his official Twitter account, Henry Winter was quick to congratulate Leeds and looks back on how far they have come during that period outside of the top-flight.

This echoed the views of The Athletic’s Phil Hay, who insisted that it was more than just Marcelo Bielsa was to thank for Leeds’ stunning achievement.
A long and treacherous journey has come to an end. But a new one awaits as their new objective will no doubt be to retain their Premier League status once more.
