Leeds United fans may think they are still dreaming, but they are not.
Promotion to the Premier League was officially confirmed as second-place West Bromwich Albion failed to beat Huddersfield Town on Friday as they lost 2-1, which ended a 16-year absence from top-flight football for the Whites.
This brings their journey to an end and helps them embark on a brand new one, which will involve plenty of investment and change going forward at the football club.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay gave his verdict on what was a sensational achievement by the club, and believes that it is more than just Marcelo Bielsa who is to be thanked for their rise to stardom.
So many hands involved in promotion – Radrizzani, Bielsa, Orta, Kinnear, backroom team, crowds and, not least, a squad who took the crack of Bielsa’s whip and ran with it. This will stand out as a unique period of the club’s history.

Before this post, Hay reminded fans of the dark times of the past and believed that now was the time that all of the gloomy periods of recent years can now be buried into the ground.
It is a day that Leeds fans will not forget for some time, and Hay is right, it is not just Bielsa that is responsible for the rise of the Whites.
