Leeds United’s Under 23 side were back in action this week as we faced off against Burnley in Lancashire and we came out as 6-3 winners as I’m sure most fans are aware.

Patrick Bamford on his first start since September stole the headlines with his hattrick as he continues to build himself back to full fitness following the lengthy injury he sustained earlier in the 2018/19 campaign, but there were also good runouts for others such as Izzy Brown.

19-year-old Jack Clarke’s performance shouldn’t fall under the radar either. As previously covered, he’s now been linked with Manchester City and Liverpool but I wouldn’t expect anything to come of that given his behaviour and attitude whilst in our Academy, prior to signing his first professional deal. In any event, he will have only boosted that speculation with his showing as coming off the bench he was almost immediately on the scoresheet and then went on to help himself to two assists.

With a performance like that it’s no wonder he came in for great praise on social media from these fans and the calls for greater time in the first team are perfectly understandable as well.
