Leeds United are desperately hoping that the season can be finished as they currently lead the way in the Championship.
Whilst the EFL have reiterated that they want to do just that, we all know that the current situation means things can change quickly. Despite that, authorities across Europe have started making decisions, with French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe confirming the 19/20 sporting season was over in his country.
Importantly, that’s not to state that the campaign is null and void and a decision will be made on what to do in terms of the league next month. Nevertheless, this update worried some Whites fans who are concerned that a relatively big league has made this decision, even if the focus in England is on playing the games.
What league will Leeds United be playing in next season?
Premier League
Championship
With Marcelo Bielsa’s side holding a seven-point lead over Fulham in the race for automatic promotion, they are hot favourites to go up but with nine games to go, including a fixture against the Cottagers, nothing is certain.
So, we still wait to see what happens to the Premier League and Football League in the coming months but sections of the Leeds support are fearing the worst. Here we look at some of the reaction following the news from France…
This cannot be allowed to happen in England #lfc #lufc https://t.co/nzpLQgmNDH

All about our government now , think our government are on side to let it go ahead ,but if there not the same will happen in england, still don’t get why they say it’s ok to play football in 12 week but they can’t finish the season in 12 weeks, still think we’re going up 🙏 #Lufc https://t.co/Acuwj5OfSu

I’ve come to the conclusion that this football season isn’t happening, let’s go ppg and be done with it, yes I have a biased view and some will say it’s not fair but at least you would be getting judged on your achievements thus far, not having them taken away #lufc

#lufc if the season is voided make no mistake @LUFC are far and away the harshest effected. Liverpool are champions no matter what, awarding them a trophy or not is something for fans to banter about. There’s millions of pounds and great years we’d miss if it happened.
