Darren Bent believes that Leeds United will look to sign Matty Cash in the next transfer window if he is available as he backed the full-back to thrive under Marcelo Bielsa.

Whilst we still don’t know how the season will play out, the Whites are on course to win promotion as they currently hold a seven-point lead over third-placed Fulham with just nine games to play. However, if they do go up, new faces may be required to help establish the Yorkshire outfit in the top-flight.

And, speaking to Football Insider, the former England international explained why bringing Cash to Elland Road would be a shrewd bit of business.

He’s got a great work rate, he’s got good quality and he does seem like a Bielsa-type player with the way that he plays. He’s certainly an option for them, I’m sure if Leeds go up they’ll be in for him, there’s going to be other Premier League clubs who will there to try and steal him as well.

Whatever the outcome at the end of the season, Matty Cash is going to have some takers.”

Would you sign Matty Cash this summer?

Yes

No

The 22-year-old has been outstanding for Sabri Lamouchi’s side this season, featuring in all but one of their league games this season and he has contributed with three goals and four assists from full-back. Such form has caught the eye too, with West Ham having a £12m bid rejected for the player in the January transfer window.

Forest would obviously be reluctant to sell and if they win promotion, which is possible as the Reds currently occupy a play-off place, they wouldn’t need to lose such a prized asset. However, it has been reported that a failure to win promotion could force the club to cash in, with Cash and centre-back Joe Worrall suggested as two players that could bring in up to £25m for Forest.
