Leeds United have been in superb form in the Championship so far this season, rising back to the summit of the table after a narrow win against Bolton at the weekend.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have established themselves as one of the leading contenders to earn promotion to the Premier League but there is still plenty of work to be done between now and the end of the campaign.
Further activity in the January transfer market is likely to rejuvenate the squad and provide a boost for the second half of the campaign, although the first piece of business that has been completed raised a few eyebrows.
Samuel Saiz sealed a loan move to LaLiga side Getafe until the end of the season, with the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign, and it left many fans on social media in a rather sorry mood.
Saiz took to social media to say goodbye to Leeds supporters and was met with a variety of responses. We have gathered some of their comments below.
All the best Samu. Family always comes first, just think of @LUFC as your extended family. We’ll watch your future career with interest. Maybe see you in a Leeds shirt again in the future….never say never #ALAW
