“Faithful To The Style” – But Bielsa Points Out What Is Still “Indispensable” For Leeds

|

Reading played hosts to Leeds United earlier this evening as we made the trip to the Madejski Stadium for our most recent Championship action.

Victory would’ve heavily put the pressure on Norwich City in top spot as we not only chase down promotion to the Premier League, but preferably the second tier title.

Mats Klich gave us the lead 14 minutes into the game and Pablo Hernandez doubled that advantage in minute 22. With a clinical edge being a topic of conversation, both goals came from our first two shots on target.

Hernandez made the evening better by hitting a brace two minutes before the halftime break and although we couldn’t add to the score, we did keep another clean sheet to ensure all three points returned with us.

We retake top spot and eagerly await Norwich’s tie tomorrow night – can Hull do us a favour and make the battle at the top even tighter?

Speaking to the BBC following the end of the game, Bielsa said of our efforts.

“It was a fair result, we could have scored more goals and conceded a goal. In spite of the difference in the result the team was faithful to the style. We played an opponent that has dangerous offensive players. If you look at the table, you only can reach the conclusion we have many games to play and taking this into account, we have to win every game. Or at least, we have to try to win each game because it will be indispensable.”
