Leeds United made the trip to the Madejski Stadium earlier this evening for our Championship tie with Reading.
With manager Marcelo Bielsa announcing an unchanged side ahead of the game it meant a fitness boost for Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips given concerns at the weekend, so confidence was high we could take another victory and temporarily, at least, replace Norwich City in top spot in the second tier table.
It took Leeds only 14 minutes to take the advantage as Mats Klich found the back of the net once again and Pablo Hernandez doubled that lead in minute 22 as we converted our opening two shots on target. Hernandez completed his brace two minutes before the halftime break to give us a very comfortable and deserved lead on the day.
Although we couldn’t add to our lead in the second period, we took another clean sheet to ensure all three points and top spot is once again ours – for now.
