Fabrizio Romano provides update on McKennie

|

According to Fabrizio Romano via Twitter, Leeds United have made an opening bid of €28m, but the valuation is still to be agreed as Juventus want €35m.

Leeds coach Jesse Marsch is keen to make Weston McKennie his third signing of the January transfer window as he looks to add to his squad in preparation for the second half of the season. However, the two clubs are still negotiating on a deal to bring the 24-year-old to Elland Road.

It is believed the valuation from both clubs are a small way off but it is thought a resolution will be found over the coming days. McKennie has already agreed on personal terms on the deal with Leeds and is happy to sign for the West Yorkshire club where he will link up with USA international teammates Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams.

Leeds fans will be excited to see players such as McKennie being linked with the club and if the deal can be agreed it will be a real coup for the Whites.

There is a sense of optimism amongst the fans that the hierarchy are starting to take note of their concerns about players and have started filling positions in key areas. It is also believed the spending won’t stop just yet, whether that be a left-back or centre-back, Leeds certainly need some help in the defensive areas.

The club have been linked with Everton’s Michael Keane in the last few days but it still remains unclear if they will pursue a deal for the 30-year-old who has only made one appearance so far this season.

Juve paying hardball. screw them, they are desperate to get McKennie’s wages off their wage bill. Let them keep him and lets see if another few months of him not playing first-team football will improve their situation.
