Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘Every one’, ‘that’s a tough one’: Some Leeds fans unsure on how to respond to nostalgic tweet

|

It’s something I’m sure most of us have done to pass the time at some stage. Where would a certain player from a certain team from years gone by fit into the modern game and vice versa, would a certain player have made it in teams gone by?

Would Pele have scored as many goals today as he did during his career? Would Lionel Messi be able to hack it in the 1950s?

In a moment of, I presume boredom waiting for the Jack Harrison deal to get over the line, Marching On Together Forum posed the same question of Leeds fans, and there was always going to be one side that he’d turn to, Don Revie’s famous, or infamous depending on how you viewed them, team of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

With the likes of Billy Bremner, Johnny Giles, and Peter Lorimer to choose from, Leeds fans aren’t exactly spoilt for choice when it comes to great players. That’s why it was so hard for these fans to come to a general consensus, with some going for nostalgia and others actually taking it seriously and trying to add some tactical nous into the whole affair.
