According to the Daily Mail, Leeds have lodged a £12 million bid for Derby County striker Matej Vydra as we continue to hunt his signature.

The forward has got an excellent record in Championship football.

A goal-scorer in the second tier, he’s certainly got plenty going for him and as soon as it was evident Derby were open to a sale, we have been linked.

It would seem that we’re in the driving seat for him, too, with other clubs not really getting close to the stage that we are at.

Let’s hope that Derby accept the offer.

The Verdict

This would be a very exciting signing for many at the club.

Vydra would guarantee goals and with good signings around him I think he’d fire us towards the top two spots.

Certainly, it’s a fair chunk of money but I think it would prove more than worth it.

  • Seems to be very windy at elland road with all the hot air coming out we have started pre season work and sent players out on loan transfering others and buying NOBODY get the squad improved then start writing articles (true ones) until then stay quiet

  • I’m not convinced, it’s a lot of money to spend on a striker who has had 1 good goal scoring season…personally I’d prefer them to look elsewhere as I don’t see how we would be guaranteed goals, it’s an expensive risk, would prefer to gamble on Hernandez
