Leeds United and Lewis Baker are at an advanced stage in terms of talks according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Chelsea midfielder has spent plenty of time on loan during his young career and it looks as though another loan could be on the way, this time to our club.

However, a permanent deal has also not been ruled out this summer and negotiations are continuing in a positive manner.

The Verdict

I’d be very pleased with Baker if he arrived at the club.

He’s got great quality and, really, Middlesbrough should have played him more last season than they did.

That’s their problem, though, and I think under Marcelo Bielsa he’d have a great time of things as hopefully we’ll be the club that unlocks his full potential.

If we can, too, I think we’ll be well on the way to bringing Premier League football back.
