A lot of Leeds United fans are not interested in the Whites’ Expected Goals from the 2-0 win over QPR.
Graham Smyth put up a graph of Leeds’ xG, and for the first time this season, they exceeded what they were expected to get.
The graph shows that Leeds should have only scored 1.6 goals, but they actually got two. Of course, you can’t score 1.6 goals – so I don’t see why xG matters.
Another flaw in the xG is that it only records shots – so the two times Patrick Bamford was inches away from scoring are not included.
Do you like Expected Goals?
Yes, helps understand the game
No, totally pointless
Even though on both occasions he practically had an empty net to aim for.
Either way, though, all that matters at the end of the game is the final score xG is just pointless, and many Whites fans agree with me.

Only stat that count is the GF & GA at end of the game.
Yesterday’s GF 2 GA 0 is beautiful.— Morley white (@morleywhites) November 3, 2019
What exactly is this supposed to mean anyway? #tosh
