Don’t Jump The Gun Robbie

If it is one thing we don’t need right now, it’s someone jumping the gun and start talking about the Premiership!

There were people outside of the Huddersfield/Barnsley play-off match on Monday handing out info to Huddersfield fans about ‘football special trains’ going to Cardiff. And we all know what happened there!

And to be honest, I didn’t want to read Robbie Blake’s comments saying he is confident the club can follow the example set by West Ham and Wigan and make their mark in the Premiership next season. I’m sure we can, but …

United face Watford at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Sunday in the Coca-Cola Championship’s end-of-season showdown, with a £20million place in the top-flight up for grabs for the winner.

Blake: ‘Hopefully we can win this game because I’m itching to get back into the Premiership.

‘If a big club like this did go up, and with the fan base we’ve got, then I’m pretty sure we could establish ourselves and follow on from what West Ham and Wigan have achieved.

‘Not only does the club as a whole deserve to be back in the Premier League, but the players as well because there’s a fantastic set of lads here, and we are close.

‘I’m sure we’ll get there. We have made it hard work for ourselves because – to say the least – we had a wobble towards the end of the season, but we came back strong in the semi-final win over Preston.’
