Despite Leeds United’s chief executive Angus Kinnear explaining in his weekend programme notes that the club would likely only be busy during the transfer window if there was an exception – namely we lost a player through a recall or there was an amazing deal on offer to us to really strengthen the group, naturally that doesn’t stop the claims and the rumours with the January transfer window nearing but suggestions that we will now be in for Swansea City attacker Andre Ayew seems even more bizarre than normal.
The claim comes from Ghanasoccer and although they state an exclusive, there’s not a single piece of concrete information in the deal other than his current form for the Welsh club and the fact that manager Marcelo Bielsa knows him from his single season at French club Marseille.
Despite the lack of real information or even a likelihood of this happening, I can imagine it will gain traction on social media and could well become a ‘thing’ for the next few days until the media go back to suggesting we’ll bring another loanee in even though we’re already over the match day limits.
