With Kemar Roofe’s disappointing switch out from Leeds United to Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht side on Tuesday evening for a believed £7million, whilst it may only be a small touch, plenty of fans were happy to praise the club when they announced on Wednesday that any fan who had purchased Roofe’s name on the back of their 2019/20 shirts could exchange them for free.

True To Bielsa’s Word, Roofe Completes Undisclosed Switch Out To Anderlecht

Speculation that the 26-year-old would be departing this summer simply gained traction as the week’s ticked by over the summer and with only 12 months left on his existing contract, and no new deal looking likely to be signed, fans will be hoping that the money is reinvested in the squad given some of the speculation we are seeing as the transfer deadline later on Thursday approaches.

With plenty of clubs having a ‘buyer beware’ approach to shirt sales over the summer prior to the window closing, this was a good touch from the club though in my humble.
