Many Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media, after LUFC Data shared a graphic highlighting where Jean-Kevin Augustin is most effective.
Augustin was revealed as our third winter signing on Monday, with the club announcing his arrival on loan from Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig for the remainder of the campaign.
Our deal for Augustin also includes an option to buy in the summer, which is reportedly worth around Β£15million.
What those funds will add to Marcelo Bielsa’s ranks is a striker who has scored 23 times in professional football, between spells with Paris Saint-Germain, Leipzig and AS Monaco.
He only managed to score once in 13 outings for Les Monegasques before seeing his one-season loan spell cut short in order to facilitate a transfer to Leeds, though Augustin’s arrival in West Yorkshire has excited some of the fanbase.
Parts of the Elland Road faithful have been sharing their excitement on social media after LUFC Data offered a graphic highlighting where Augustin is most effective in front of the goal, with only six of his 23 strikes coming from outside of the penalty area.
How many goals do you expect Augustin to score this season?
None
One to three
Four to Six
Seven plus
Twenty of his 23 career efforts have also been scored with his right boot, and his 14 strikes across the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 have come from an expected goals of 13.02, per Wyscout cited by LUFC Data.
Augustin may be expected to maintain a record of converting chances such as his current rate now that he has joined Bielsa’s ranks, as LUFC Data adds that United have the highest expected goals in the Championship at 52.0, have created the most chances with 343 and created the most big chances with 55.
Patrick Bamford has scored ten of our 43 goals in the second-tier this term and has also taken the most shots with 80 and missed the most big chances with 17.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to LUFC Data’s postβ¦

Genuinely excited by how he fits into our system unlike Nketiah. Hope he lives up to the expectations that we’ve put on his shoulders.

Hasselbaink-esque

Should have kept Nketiah he can score goals
β Andy Oddy (@oddy_andy) January 27, 2020
This is great as chances we create seem to so often fall on Bamford’s, weaker, right foot.

Will carry us to the Premier League o his shoulders
