“At The Moment We Don’t Know” – Leeds Manager Gives Injury Update After Weekend Blow

|

Saturday almost became the day many Leeds United fans had been waiting for, as manager Marcelo Bielsa has now confirmed that on loan Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah was due to start in the Championship clash with Queens Park Rangers.

Sadly for the 20-year-old he picked up an issue in training on Friday and he ended up in hospital, undergoing tests on his abdominal area as we looked to get to the bottom of the problem. As fans know, Patrick Bamford took the starting spot and impressed plenty after overcoming his ankle knock, and Nketiah missed out completely.

Speaking to Leeds Live after the game, our Argentine gaffer explained.

Did Bamford Take His Chance To Impress Against QPR?

The Jury Is Still Out

Hopefully we’ll know more in the next couple of days and whatever the issue for Nketiah was, the tests highlight the problem and it proves to be something that allows him to come back into contention for the matchday squad for next weekend’s clash with Blackburn Rovers – or at the very least, doesn’t keep him sidelined for too long.
