3 Key Passes, 6 Tackles & A Whopping 96 Touches Takes Leeds Man To MotM On A Disappointing Sunday

|

Despite dominating in our usual fashion, Sunday’s final regular season match in the 2018/19 Championship ended in more frustration for Leeds United as already relegated Ipswich Town pipped us to the points.

Heading to Portman Road for the game, we found ourselves behind twice in the match, but fought back on each occasion. With Kemar Roofe missing from the penalty spot after they were reduced to ten men, it looked like another good performance would go without the three points, but in the 90th minute they took the winner, leaving manager Marcelo Bielsa wondering how we lost once again.

Not the perfect preparation for the Play-Offs now, but we’ll be looking to infuriate Frank Lampard and his Derby County side once more.

Statistics website Whoscored bizarrely handed Ipswich the better player ratings on the day overall, but Kalvin Phillips took our Man of the Match award with another strong defensive showing and a score of 7.83.

Stuart Dallas (7.51), Luke Ayling (7.29), Pablo Hernandez (6.88) and Pontus Jansson (6.81) completed the top five on the day for us but the players won’t be too disappointed given the overall performance, it’s just down to taking our chances and not making so many mistakes at the back.

Promotion is in our hands, time to seize it.
