It’s been claimed this week that Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips is now a target for 2018/19 Championship title winners Norwich City.

The initial report seems to come from the Daily Mail so I don’t think fans should be too concerned at this stage, but Phillips has been a standout performer for manager Marcelo Bielsa this year and with such improvement from the 23-year-old across the year, he’s undoubtedly being looked at by a number of clubs.

The Mail claim that newly promoted Norwich are planning a £12million bid for the player and that’s just frankly laughable to me, as is their claim that Norwich won’t have a strong transfer budget, despite the riches the top flight brings for clubs.

The report is pretty naff and contains absolutely no concrete information and they don’t even take the lazy option of leaning on an unnamed source to try and justify the claim, but that hasn’t stopped some fans from understandably worrying about his future. Others seemed to be as cynical as I am.

  • Same old Leeds we will sell and buy no one. If we would of bought players last season I’m sure we would of been promoted

  • One of the most far fetched articles to come out this early. Norwich have already said they cannot spend big money only reporting a £20 mill budget. While I do not believe that figure, it certainly will not be massive amounts. Simply put they will not spend £15 mill on one player.
