Leeds Under 18s captain Charlie Cresswell has been named in the LFE’s ‘The 11’ for June 2019.
‘The 11’ is a monthly award handed out by the League Football Education to acknowledge academic progress, as well as development on the football pitch, for U18 players on apprenticeships at current and former English Football League sides.
It also looks at their work in the community, such as charity-based initiatives, with Cresswell acknowledged for his exemplary attitude and determination toward his apprenticeship after being named U18s captain during the first year of his traineeship with the Whites.
The LFE also felt the 16-year-old centre-back – who engaged with our Under 23s during the 2018/19 season – demonstrated excellent leadership qualities on and off the field, to push himself and his teammates to develop their skills in all aspects.
Former academy star Lewis Cook was also named in ‘The 11’ during his spell with us, before going on to become an Apprentice of the Year winner.
When the official Leeds Twitter account shared that Cresswell had been included in the LFE’s ‘The 11’ for June, this is how some Whites supporters reacted…
