Just when you thought the rumours had gone away, here they come again.
Kalvin Phillips to Aston Villa is back on the agenda it seems. The stories have been going round all summer, but have gone relatively quiet in recent weeks.
The latest update, comes from David Anderson of The Mirror. He reports that Aston Villa have lodged an offer of £11m for the midfielder. Now given there were reports a number of weeks ago that Villa were looking to bid £14m for Phillip’s services, with Leeds however holding out for £30m, to see the fee go down rather than up is a little bit surprising.
When the latest reports came in surrounding one of their own, Leeds fans on Twitter didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
There were some who waved away the notion that Villa were going to lowball the club for such a high profile and crucial player.

However, there’s always a few Negative Nancie’s around, and they looked at Leeds’ history of selling off star players for cheap, both recently and in the past as a sign that they wouldn’t be surprised to see the Leeds board actually follow through and let the deal happen.
Watch us accept it
