Leeds United did not kick the weekend off how we would have liked with them losing to Sheffield United earlier on this lunchtime.
The Whites were confident for this one, as we were as fans, but the Blades also had every right to be confident with the form they were in.
And, so it proved, it was the Blades that kept their run going with a win thanks to a Chris Basham goal, whilst we ended up looking rather wounded come the end of the game.
Kiko Casilla was sent-off, and Pontus Jansson had to go in goal – when he was already hobbling around after doing his knee in a challenge.
A far from solid way to end things, then, and plenty has been said about the big Swede and his predicament as well as his game as a whole.
Let’s take a look at what has been said:
😢the loss is bad enough but the fact we dominated, the injury to Jansson, the red card for Kiko, and the 2 weeks wait until we play again is just not fair. #lufc

If we're gonna call out opposition players for it, we also have to call out Jansson for diving. What is he doing #lufc

Don’t like reality, feel sick. Instead I’m still imagining the scenes had Jansson scored playing in attack as a goal keeper. #lufc

Casilla being sent off, Jansson playing up front and in goal whilst on one leg and us dropping out of the top two certainly wasn't how I had hoped today would go. #lufc

What an absolute car crash that was. Dropping to 3rd, Jansson probably injured and Casilla ban. Horrendous game. #lufc

Shame it had to be a mistake to decide the game, costly in many ways Points, Jansson & Kiko #LUFC

All we can hope is that the injury is not as bad as his grimace suggested it might be.
