Two recent transfer reports suggest Leeds regular could leave this summer: Comment

According to Football Insider, Leeds United are interested in Aaron Ramsdale at Bournemouth if they get promoted to the Premier League, and the knock-on effect should be that further questions are asked about Kiko Casilla’s future.

The same outlet has reported earlier this month that Illan Meslier is a player that the Whites want to keep past the end of this season and make a permanent deal happen for.

Should we keep Casilla?

No

And that, combined with the Ramsdale report, will leave many wondering whether there is a place for Casilla at the club past the end of this season.

The experienced Casilla has been the number 1 this season but with him suspended right now, Meslier has come in and has impressed – as he did in the FA Cup game with Arsenal at the start of 2020.

Indeed, it seems to be the case that the Whites want to keep him on and, instead of him challenging Casilla, he might well end up challenging the current Bournemouth stopper.

Ramsdale is another young keeper with a bright future in the game and if the Whites are promoted – which we all hope will happen eventually – signing him, and completing the Meslier deal, leaves Casilla with nowhere really to go.

Of course, many squads have three goalkeepers but few have a trio that could all feasibly start and, therefore, logic would suggest if the club pays out on Ramsdale and Meslier, the Spanish stopper might well have little left in terms of time at the club.
