He may have played 27 times in his breakthrough season, but some fans want to see more from Tyler Roberts following his efforts against Preston North End.
It was the 20-year-old’s 14th consecutive appearance in Marcelo Bielsa’s side when we traveled to Deepdale on Tuesday, but he could not manage another full ninety minutes to go with the run of three in a row he had just achieved.
Roberts also failed to have an impact on the scoresheet, to extend his creativity struggles to one assist in his past six outings.
The £2.25million-rated ace is also without a goal in his previous 20 games, having last found the back of the net against Hull City at the start of October.
It was not through a lack of trying that Roberts failed to add to his three-goal tally against Preston, however, as he managed to fashion three shots on goal and played one key pass, although only one of his efforts made its way on target.
Roberts also failed to register a single tackle and recorded the second worst pass accuracy rating of any Whites star who featured at Deepdale, with only Ezgjan Alioski misplacing more.
His stats give these Leeds fans reasons to ask for more…
Thought you were immense tonight, such great touch. I’d like to see you trust yourself even more, attack those CH’s at pace, you’ll nail ‘em!

Class again last night, Tyler. And you’re only to getting better with age.

I don’t get playing Roberts in @LUFC Midfield every week – it’s worked on occasion but we need someone more robust, better first touch and more influential as Klich needs that to play off to be more dangerous

Personally rate Roberts but his final pass is lacking somewhat, in his defence though he is a centre forward by trade and they don’t need to have a ‘final pass’ #lufc

Bamford is shocking…@LUFC only have one striker that will hold his own in the premiership, Kemar Roofe…Tyler Roberts has potential but no where near ready for premiership…if we go up, I hope the owner has plenty of money to spend

Roberts should shift the ball and shoot but passes at the edge of the box…any wonder why we don’t score goals #lufc
