It seemed to turn into another of those weekends for Leeds United fans as following the sale of goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell, one of the other big stories on the rumour mill as the week came to a close was the claims that key striker Kemar Roofe was in talks with Belgian side Anderlecht over a potential transfer.
The Daily Mail made the claims very late on Thursday evening and suggested that the 26-year-old could now make the switch to the Jupiler League for just £7million given he only has 12 months remaining on his contract.
Should he make the switch, he’ll team up with former Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany who is making his first steps into management.
There’s not a lot of details in the report really and that will give some hope that its typical transfer nonsense at this time of year, but equally, with it believed that he’d been offered a new deal but with it yet to be signed, plenty worry that the pull of working with a name like Kompany could be a clincher here.
If he won’t sign a new deal, we have no choice really but to sell but looking at deals so far this summer elsewhere, is £7million really a proper return given what we’ve seen from him?
I've defended Radz but if he sells Roofe and doesn't buy a replacement as well as not replacing Jansson then we got some problems #lufc

If roofe goes the board need to go. Our top youngster, best defender, and top striker with no players in return. What is going on at #lufc

Surely Leeds must be looking at signing a striker knowing that there's interest in Kemar Roofe.. #lufc #mot

Worst thing about selling Roofe would be the fact the Bielsa won't trust his replacement as he hasn't had a full preason. #LUFC

Losing Roofe is a massive blow we go into the season with just Bamford ???? #lufc #mot

I think seeing this news about Roofe is tipping me over the edge of being balanced in my view of our dealings this window. Not happy #lufc

If Roofe leaves, our squad has gotten smaller and worse off from last season… not liking this now #lufc

£7 million – what's the ceiling for Roofe? Many #LUFC supporters about to hit the roof…
