Leeds United and West Brom are in commanding positions at the top of the Championship and are favourites to win promotion if the season does resume.
With Albion six-points clear of third-placed Fulham, and Leeds a point ahead of the Baggies, it would take a lot for the Cottagers to overturn that deficit with just nine games to play. Therefore, there is understandably major concern at Elland Road about what will happen to the remainder of the campaign, with owner Andrea Radrizzani making it clear on Twitter that he would not support cancelling the rest of the season – as has been done in France.
What league will Leeds United be playing in next season?
Premier League
Championship
Despite that, there doesn’t seem to be the same feelings coming from The Hawthorns, with The Athletic revealing that Albion are ‘calm’ about the possibility of playing in the Championship again next season. The report explains how they understand this is a very tough situation and they also feel they are in a sound position financially and with their squad, which would allow them to flourish in the years to come.
And, that approach angered many Leeds fans who just couldn’t believe West Brom would be potentially willing to let this go. Here we look at some of the comments…
Not the same for us. It would fundamentally change things for the worse. No Bielsa, no Phillips for a start. Several player sales. Awful.

It’s all self greed. WBA stand to receive further parachute payments this year regardless of what happens yet the article suggests they’d want this years parachute payments to hit the EFL (inc. them) if there’s no PL relegation this year.

Sorry but utter nonsense, there is no way on earth they are relaxed about missing the opportunity to be promoted

They will do, another year of parachute payments.
