Report: Details emerge as 75-cap international open to Leeds United switch

|

Burnley keeper Joe Hart would be very interested in joining Leeds United this summer and is willing to take a pay cut to ensure the switch happens.

The 33-year-old has endured a tough time with the Clarets, with Hart not playing in a single league game this season as Nick Pope is the number one at Turf Moor. Therefore, with his contract due to expire in the coming months, he is expected to leave and former Whites stopper Paul Robinson urged his old club to bring Hart in.

Whether they are interested remains to be seen, however Football Insider have claimed that the chance to go to Elland Road would really appeal to the keeper, who has won 75 caps for England in his career. They state he will accept a salary lower than the £70,000 a week he is on now to make it happen.

Would you sign Joe Hart if we are promoted?

Yes

No

Marcelo Bielsa could be on the lookout for a new keeper in the summer, with experienced number one Kiko Casilla currently serving an eight-game ban for using racist language back in September. That, combined with his mixed performances over the past 18 months, has thrown the future of the Spaniard into doubt and youngster Illan Meslier is the next in line.

A lot could depend on whether the Yorkshire outfit return to the Premier League, which would be likely if the season is played to a finish. Leeds are currently seven-points clear in the race for automatic promotion with just nine games left to play, although there is still no return date in mind for the Football League due to the current situation.
