Time will tell as to whether player’s distraught Brentford reaction was covering something more worrying

|

The scenes at Griffin Park on Monday evening will live long in the memory and not for the reasons that we would have been hoping.

Indeed, the end of the game marked what seemed consignment to the play-off places – unless we see the most dramatic of turnarounds in these last two games of the Championship.

Without doubt, it hit the players hard and, perhaps most of all, it was Pablo Hernandez who seemed to be suffering most.

Our best player again this season, he was on the verge of tears at full-time, practically inconsolable.

Indeed, you can tell how much it means to him to get back into the Premier League with us and, it makes you wonder, whether this summer might just see him leave.

Was it anguish of knowing that if he didn’t go up with us he’d be moving? It perhaps seems unlikely but he was cut up more than most.

Time will soon tell.
