Okay nobody panic but I think there’s a good chance the Whites are going after Abel Hernandez.
The Uruguayan might have been injured a lot this season but he has eight goals in ten in the Championship for the season just gone and scored five in seven towards the end of the year.
Certainly, he looks like the kind of striker you’d need to challenge at the sharp end of the table and, according to Phil Hay, we’re having a go for him:

This would definitely be some signing that we could all get behind and, naturally, our fans are getting excited about the news:
Would be ideal, I called this the day after we played them at ER he caused us no end of trouble

Would he get in over Grot and Ekuban?

Get Javier Hernandez in, and then we can have Hernandez in behind Hernandez and Hernandez

The Verdict
My only worry with this is that we’ll get trumped by a club that can offer him more money or top flight football.
If, however, we can put together an attractive offer – getting us promoted doesn’t sound bad, does it – then who’s to say we won’t nab him.
Certainly, it would redeem the likes of Victor Orta just that little bit.
