Leeds United have been involved in some memorable games over the years, from high-scoring clashes to tense encounters.
However, one game that didn’t have that but will always be remembered is the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa last season because of a remarkable five minute spell in the second half.

As many will recall, the Whites took the lead when Villa had a player down injured and it sparked trouble between the two sets of players and the benches, with Anwar El Ghazi sent off. If that wasn’t enough, boss Marcelo Bielsa then insisted that Leeds let the visitors score and centre-back Pontus Jansson wasn’t happy about that at all.
Officially, that draw ended the automatic promotion hopes of the Yorkshire outfit, although they realistically needed a miracle to go up in the top two at that stage.
What league will Leeds United be playing in next season?

I still maintain – school boy error from Villa … one of the first rules you’re taught – is “play to the whistle”. No whistle, carry on.
