Leeds United’s latest pre-season friendly wasn’t a great success. A 1-1 draw against National League North opposition York City and Bootham Crescent certainly left fans with more negatives than positives.

With our failure to appropriately strengthen the first-team group so far this summer, and reports daily that a so-called target has moved to another club or talks have stalled over financial demands, it’s not been a great few weeks for fans.

Whilst the anger was high amongst some following the midweek action, others were willing to take a more pragmatic approach to things as Marcelo Bielsa continues learning about the players at his disposal, but with the strength of feeling about areas of the pitch that we are clearly lacking in, you have to hope that those in a position to do something about it at the club can see what fans do and even if we are moving at a snail’s pace, we will address those concerns before the big kick-off.

Let’s hope next week brings a restoration of some hope and we start finding out that the club have been working diligently behind the scenes to strengthen and act on Bielsa’s wants.
